Boost your health and fitness journey with an event
Routines can be a good thing when used properly - like the way we use healthy habits to achieve big goals. Routines can also cause us to feel a little bored, and that can lead to losing enthusiasm for the healthy things we've been doing.
Events solve that problem. Here are the top three reasons all of us need to sign up for an event...
What types of events are we talking about?
There are lots of events out there, and there's sure to be one that's just right for you. Let's talk about some awesome options...
Green Beret Fitness Operation Endure
Looking for something that's a big physical challenge? Operation Endure is a 24 hour event we're hosting at our gym on August 24 - 25. Green Beret Fitness runs the event, and they do an incredible job. It's a new workout every hour, and you do the event with a partner. Think team building combined with a lot of workouts. As with everything we do at our gym, it's scalable for all levels. Check out the full details here.
Since we're hosting Green Beret Fitness for this event, we can hook you up with a 20% discount - give me a shout for it (text me at 817-879-1625).
HYROX events
HYROX is the "World Series of fitness racing." The events combine running with functional fitness movements that we do every week in the gym. The events have versions that are appropriate for everyone from everyday people who go to the gym to pro athletes. We're a partner gym with HYROX - we believe this is a really cool event that everyone in the gym can embrace and enjoy. Check out more about HYROX here.
As a HYROX partner, we can hook you up with a 15% discount for the event (text me at 817-879-1625). There's a HYROX event in Dallas, Texas, on November 23 - sounds like the perfect thing to do the weekend before Thanksgiving.
A local 5k or 10k
Another option is to sign up for one of the many 5k and 10k events in our area. While running in a 10k doesn't give you the chance to fully express all of the awesome fitness you're developing in the gym, it can still give you something to train for and can be a lot of fun.
Bottom line: we're all better when we're working toward an event
Events give us a target and a goal. They give us additional motivation to work out. They help us bond with others who are tackling the same event. And the road trips to and from the events - those are what epic memories are made of.
Pick something to work towards. Sign up for the event and get it on your calendar - that makes it real. Get some skin in the game.
Discuss with a coach at the gym what event would be best for you if you aren't sure - we'll give you an honest assessment and help you get set up for an amazing experience. You'll surprise yourself at what you can do.
